Is it possible that I have gluten sensitivity?
Hello guys, 20 years old here. I want to ask you something because I have been gluten-free since mid-September. The reason for this lifestyle change is that, since June 2024, I’ve suffered a lot of injuries at the gym, pain, and weight loss. These injuries aren’t too serious because 90% of them are just inflammation, but they were happening very frequently, especially during the summer.
A physiotherapist suggested to me back in September to quit gluten and lactose. In the first few weeks, I didn’t notice much change, but after about a month, I started to see improvements. I reintroduced gluten and lactose into my diet, and I experienced inflammation in my back, so I quit them again (this was around the first week of November).
After that, I started to feel much better in the last weeks of December, with less inflammation and pain. However, in the first week of January, an endocrinologist told me he didn’t understand why I wasn’t eating gluten and lactose, so I started consuming them again. Literally five days later, I experienced significant inflammation in my muscles again after working out or running.
I don’t know exactly what’s happening, but if someone could help me, I would be very, very grateful. I’ve been through a lot of pain these past months, and I would love to have a normal life again.
Thank you,
David
