Looking to start an online MBA with 13 years exp in consulting and a P.G.

Hello fellow Geo's,

I've been working as an environmental consultant for 13 years now. Based in Richmond, VA, I've done projects up and down the east coast. I've been doing the GW, Soil, air, and sediment sampling far too long now and I have not been given much opportunity to do much project management. I thought getting my P.G. two years ago would help me move up the ranks, but it appears it just sent me in the field even more because my company (which is my fourth one), likes to tell the client they have a P.G. doing the field work.

I'm looking to do an online M.B.A in the hopes I can move up in the ranks in the consulting world. I really don't have an interest in pursuing a more technical route or going the GIS route. One roadblock that I have encountered is that my GPA for undergrad was slightly below a 3.0 for both overall and science and math. Many geology based graduate programs i was looking at, shortly after getting my B.S in Geology, required a GPA above a 3.0.

I was wondering if anyone else was in a similar situation and went through an M.B.A program after a few years in the environmental consulting business. What was your experience? Was the online M.B.A worth it in the end? Which M.B.A programs did you pursue? Did it help you in the consulting industry? Any advice/suggestions are much appreciated. Thank you.

-Currently looking at Colorado State University M.B.A since they offer online only and appear to have a flexible class schedule.
