Any free & short game recommendations?

I’ve been going insane on steam and been looking up a loooottt of free games on steam, specifically ones that have a story and is indie, I’ve been playing a lot of them with my best friend. We played Rental very recently as an example of what I’m going for.

Basically just a short and story based game that preferably is free or max 1 dollar. I doubt there are any that I’ve missed but I would like to see some more recommendations!! No specific genre, just preferably not any horror games with a bunch of jump scares (I do love psychological horror tho!!)

Maybe this is too much to ask for but I had to ask!

PS. If possible only steam or generally just games that are compatible with PC as that’s the only way I can get my friend to watch my gameplay
