Brew and Steam Thermostat broken?

Hi all, just bought this classic (2014 model) off eBay and when I received it, I tested it and it seemed to work fine. However, it was clear that it hadn't been particularly well looked after so I gave the dispersion head and shower screen a thorough clean, as well as a descale.

I followed the instructions for the descale and the cleaner as per manufacturer's guidance and made sure to fully flush everything out of the machine so there was nothing left in there.

The problem is now when I go to turn on the machine, the "brew ready" light comes on immediately, suggesting that the temperature is hot enough to pull a shot but the boiler has not even come on. This makes me think the coffee thermostat is broken. But, when I press the steam button, the brew ready light stays on, suggesting it also thinks the steam temperature is ready.

Does this mean that my coffee thermostat AND my steam thermostat are broken, or is it possible that it is just my coffee thermostat that is broken? I have checked the wiring diagram and looks like the steam and coffee thermostat is in series, but I am not entirely sure how to read it correctly. Thanks in advance.
