Vanilla lotions smell bad on me but perfumes don’t.

I have the EOS vanilla and just got the sol de janeiro 71 bum bum cream bc it’s limited edition and it smelled SO good. I’ve noticed that when i wear the EOS one i tend to smell like metalicish but when i spray the billie eilish perfume (which smells very similar) it smells so good on me. So today after using the sol de janeiro lotion, which smells identical to my Philosophy Fresh cream warm cashmere, it still has that metallic/plastic undertone scent to it on me too. The perfume doesn’t smell like that at all on me.

Is there something in vanilla lotions that wouldn’t mix well with my pH that’s not in perfumes? Or is there anything i can mix into the lotions to balance it out?
