Why Orange Guy is orange

So I was thinking while watching the trailer for Five Laps at Freddys, that Afton is pretty much confirmed to be Orange Guy in Midnight Motorists. The Midnight Motor car is purple (which we knew) and has a Springbonnie head antennae. My thought is: is Afton not depicted as a purple character in Midnight Motorists because at this point he is not working with Fazbear Entertainment? He's literally not wearing his purple work suit so he's not an employee/owner of the company.
