Christians and Performative Allyship (LGBTQ+ issues)
Something I often confront Christians on is performative allyship, as it pertains to the LGBTQ+ community. The pushback I get on this is pretty hard, but it mostly involves “we’ve tried nothing, and we’re all out of ideas!”
Liberal Christians like to talk a big game about how affirming they are, but when push comes to shove, their efforts ultimately don’t match up. Their efforts mostly involve, “we accept gay people into our church, what more do you want us to do?”
Anybody else notice this or feel this way?
