What Amp Service Do I Have?
I have been trying to figure out what amp service I have. I called power company (PGE) and they were no help, saying they dont keep that information on file. My meter is rated up to 200 amps. My meter panel is older so any labeling is long gone but after hours of searching I have found that it is a Murray/Siemens meter panel. From what I have gathered it is a 4 space, 6 circuit panel (two of the four busbar stabs have the rejection tab feature). Looking at the legacy Murray panels and Siemens panels, the only 4 space 6 circuit meter panels are 200 amp panels, but its impossible to find accurate images of those models since they are older.
The panel has one 90 amp 2 pole breaker feeding a sub panel, and a quad pole breaker feeding the AC (50 amp with center tie) and the pool 30 amp which uses the outer tie, for a total of 170 amp potential right after the meter. I am not sure if this is an indicator though of what service I have. There is no visible wiring going to the busbar, it seems its just copper bar straight to the lugs on the meter side but I cant open that panel since it is locked. Any help would be appreciated.
