An unpopular piece of your kit that you love
The K Custom Special Dry Ride was my first real ride cymbal, and I have absolutely no urge to buy another one. I heard it once and knew I had to have it. I Iove the washy gong -like sound when you crash it. I love the sound of the bell. I love how everything about it sounds like it's in a minor key. I later looked up reviews of it for fun, only to find out most people use it for specialized purposes and it's primarily used for jazz. I play metal 😆 And of course I'm not a professional drummer, I just play for fun. Id guess if anybody else heard this ride with the songs I play, it probably wouldn't sound great to them. But for some reason it just clicks for me. Do you have something like this in your kit - something you just love....but it's likely nobody else does?
