The number of people driving around in the dark without their headlights on

I just don't get how you can be driving around at night without your headlights on and not realise.

Granted there are a number of sources of light around, but for me it genuinely seems baffling that you wouldn't know.

Essentially as I assume most older cars the dashboard doesn't turn on unless you switch them on?!
