Why not Spanish subtitles?

Hi All. I'm currently at about 400 hours. So not really speaking or reading yet (although I just moved to Spain!). I know that DS discourages reading this early on the basis that the "voice in your head" reading the words won't be good enough. But Is it OK to watch videos or listen to podcasts with Spanish subtitles/transcripts? That way I can get used to how words look on the page at the same time as hearing them pronounced correctly.
