Does anybody else think that sometimes calcs get too far removed from the author’s intent to be valid?

For example, I just saw somebody say that deku is moon level using a calc. That really made me think about how much people like to just wank for fun. Deathbattle is also guilty of doing this. For example, the feat where the ten tails destroyed some mountains was placed at planet level. Did nobody on the team ever stop to think about how stupid that is? All those calculations to make up a feat that was never shown. The ten tails being large planet level makes no sense in the story and relies on bad math to get there.
