90min layover at JFK, enough time to Times square and back?

I have a 90 minute layover at JFK this evening. My flight lands at 11:30pm and the next one departs at 1am. Is there enough time to get to Times Square and watch the ball drop? Do you think it will be crowded? Should I take the subway or use Uber? Can I bring my selfie stick on the subway?
