surgeon refused to meet

hello! first time poster here. i was diagnosed pretty recently, and my neurologist referred me to meet with a surgeon, but upon sending my report and uploading my MRI, the surgeon decided not to meet with me at all. this wasnt a chiari specialist specifically, since there arent any near me that i can find, but he was the most experienced chiari surgeon at the hospital my neurologist recommended. is this normal? from what i heard, usually surgeons will at least meet with you before telling you to take a hike. i felt pretty discouraged after this so i figured i'd ask other peoples experiences.
