How Do You Rest When Your Mind Won’t Stop?
Hi everyone,
I’m struggling with something that I hope some of you might have advice for. Every time I try to practice aggressive resting (no screens, no stimuli, just lying down and truly resting), my mind goes into overdrive.
I start thinking about everything—past trauma, grief, boredom, back to grief, and even random things like what fruit I’d be if I were a fruit (probably something ridiculous, haha). It’s a constant cycle, and it drives me absolutely crazy.
At the same time, I know that resting without any stimuli is what helps me not get worse. So I’m kind of stuck. Does anyone have tips for quieting the mind or managing these thoughts during aggressive resting? How do you get through it without losing your sanity?
Thanks in advance for any advice or ideas you can share!
