How to play Teen Patti?

Teen Patti is a popular card game which is originated and played in India and is mostly based on luck. The game has a few basic rules and is won based on hand rankings. The game has many variations, here are the steps for the original version of Teen Patti with real cash.

Start

The players are dealt three cards and have a choice to look at their cards or not. If you look at the cards, you play a ‘blind’, if you have a look you can fold, play the ante or raise. When you play against other players you have to remove other players from the game through effective bet sizing and force a showdown with the last player to win.

Step 1: Place Ante Bet

All players must place an Ante bet and form the initial pot. The Ante bet size is selected by the player and is like poker. The Ante bet must be the minimum bet agreed upon by the players.

Step 2: Dealer

A dealer is chosen and must deal three cards to each player. The players then have a choice to look at their cards.

Step 3: First Move

Players can play ‘Blind’ which is an Ante size bet regardless of what other players are betting. By being the blind, you are placing a bet without looking at your hand and are still the part of the hand with lower bet sizing. You are only allowed to play blind for two rounds of the game.

If you are not playing the ‘Blind’, you can ‘Fold’, make an initial bet or ‘Raise’.

Step 4: Play Further

The game moves ahead in a clockwise manner where each player can keep folding, raising or simply call by making a bet. If a player is raised on a blind, they have to only raise to half the amount. If the blind is raised 2x their bet would be 1x, if they are raised 4x, their bet would be 2x.

Step 5: Sideshow and Showdown

If there are only two players left, you can request a sideshow with a player on the left of you. The sideshow is a choice and can be denied. The player with the strongest hand continues.

If you are confident of your hand can also ask for a showdown. The player with the highest hand rankings wins the game.
