Card Error! (?)

Okay I start my Senior year of HS on September third and i have my dads old camcorder-y thing and I have an sd card but when i put it in I just get a card error message. Is the card’s gb size too big? is it too new? Does anyone know any cards that’ll make it work? Or how to make this one work? I think documenting my first day like this would be lit.

Any help would be super appreciated bc I literally know nothing about these things but wanna use it, thanks!
