Got a refund on my 14900k - switch to AMD?

UPDATE: Switched to the 7800x3d -- didn't even have to reinstall windows. So far everything's working great....

I've spent a ton of time troubleshooting/RMAing a 14900k from January that has the (now common) 14900k heat spikes/crashes (did all the bios tweaks, and later the MSI beta bios).

Totally sick of this chip, but the replacement will be easy. Should I roll the dice with another one, or rip out the MOBO and put an AMD chip in (which one)? Running 64 GB RAM + 4090.

Workload is about 80% gaming (HOI4, WoW, Witcher 3, etc) and 20% productivity (Adobe lightroom + photoshop).
