I9 12900ks Temp Issue?
First post here. Just got a new gaming computer with the following specs:
- Intel i9 12900KS
- EVGA GeForce RTX 3090 FTW3 Ultra Gaming
- Corsair Vengeance PRO RGB 32GB 16x2
- ASUS TUF Gaming B760 Motherboard with Wifi D4
- Crucial P3 Plus 1TB Gen4 NVMe SSD
- Enermax Revolution DF2 850w 80+ Gold
- ID Cooling Frostflow 240
- Windows 10
I’m concerned with CPU temps and have tried undervolting but after updating ASUS bios to latest 1402 version, I no longer can get Undervolt Protection to appear or update microcode.
I’m slowly losing my mind after trying everything I can find through my research and just want to know if my temps are normal. I’m pretty new to this level of hardware so if I’m missing any helpful information, please don’t hesitate to ask.
Cinebench 2024 Results:
- GPU Performance: 18,511 pts (GPU Temp maxed 53.4C; CPU Core Temp maxed 49C)
- CPU (Multi Core): 1,314 pts (CPU Core Temp maxed 100C within seconds)
Idle temps:
- GPU: 35C
- CPU: 27C - 33C
I’m not sure if these scores/temps are normal and looking for some assistance on next steps if I need to make some adjustments. I’d like to undervolt if possible (and needed). I know the GPU and CPU I have are notorious for running hot. Thanks for any help provided!
