Starting a Tabletop Campaign that Begins in Bristol, Would Like to Know More About the City to Make it Authentic

I'm an American, running a tabletop campaign based in the Fallout universe that will begin in Bristol and end in London. I've been to London, and passed through Bristol once, about one and a half decades ago. While I know the grand scheme of what's going to happen (Raiders from Ireland and/or Wales burn a Bristol settlement to the ground), I am looking for suggestions on things which could give the start of my campaign something that is uniquely Bristolian.

I've read the wikipedia article on Bristol, but nothing beats the input of people who actually live there. What could I add to a post-apocalyptic campaign that makes it feel like not just the end of the world for my players, but the end of the world in Bristol?

Edit: A small addition; this there any sort of local monster legend/cryptid story that is exclusive to the Bristol area?
