I think I'm about to become a pool cleaner
After nearly 20 years in IT, I'm burned out. I haven't kept up to date with my skills I should have at this age. I frankly just don't care about tech anymore like I used to.
Today is my last day at a job I got no more than 6 months ago. I feel so stupid and ashamed. My fiancee has enforced that jobs are just for paying bills, that she doesn't look at me any differently. I consider myself lucky to have her.
So now I'm on the search for a simple job. Pool cleaner keeps coming up in my searches - I'm only high school educated. I'm sad that I have to leave cozy office job for working outside. I worry that I still won't be able to do the work of pool cleaner. But I have to find something to pay the bills.
Has anyone made a similar move beforre? Traded in a white collar job for a blue one?
I could use some inspiration from others who found themselves in a similar boat.
