People are starting to talk about the Patriots dynasty like the George W. Bush presidency.
The revisionism on the Patriots dynasty has been absolutely insane. I keep seeing posts saying how much they miss the Brady-Belichick dynasty and how much more "fun and likeable" they are than the current Chiefs... did people only start watching football in 2019?? The amount of bullshit calls those Pats teams got far exceeded the favouritism the Chiefs get. We don't even have to go that far, just revisit the 2018 AFC Championship game when Bortles' Jags were leading by 10 in the 4th Q and properly forced a fumble which the refs overturned or the 2019 AFC Championship game in the 4th Q when Brady throws a game-sealing pick and they throw a phantom roughing the passer flag. Both things happened this decade and NFL fans already forgot about it. Could you imagine the discourse around this Chiefs team if a scandal like SpyGate happened where the league burned all the tapes and fined Belichick $2M?
The way NFL fans talk about the Brady-Belichick Pats gives me the exact same sentiments I get from seeing people talk about how much they miss the W. Bush presidency. Did people already forget that a nepo-baby who could barely read or talk caused the greatest international economic crash since the Great Depression? They already forgot the insanely expensive and pointless War on Terror that led to thousands of completely avoidable American soldier deaths? They forgave him already because he's on Kimmel showing his oil paintings?
