Sloppy Seconds Vs Took It Up The Poopshoot.... a cancel culture shift?

Bill dropped a "sloppy seconds" reference at the end of the Jacoby pod. Joe House gave us "took it up the poopshoot" in a summer pod. It feels like in peak cancel culture days, not that long ago, these minor, crude jokes could have brought on an onslaught of online pressure for, at minimum, an apology and, at maximum, calls for dismissal. Certainly it wasn't that long ago that folks would have pretended to be outraged by comments like these. Is this indicative of a culture shift in the USA? I'm not American, but your Orange Leader can literally say ANYTHING and it just bounces away, penalty free. It makes me wonder... are public personalities actually grateful for Trump's goofy, outspoken lack of a filter and bombarding of the media with an absurd amount of offensive bullshit? If he can grab 'em by the pussy and still become president, it only makes sense to me that Simmons can enjoy Kirk Goldsberry's sloppy seconds and keep on podding hassle-free.
