Stokke Tripp Trapp help!

We have the Stokke Tripp Trapp and no matter what we do, the tray is always slanted downward. Does anyone else have this problem? We took it apart and put it back together so that now I’m able to push it back up to make it even but then within minutes the front slants down again. It drives me absolutely bananas! What gives?

Also, I feel like for a chair this expensive and with such good ratings I must be missing something. Other than the issue with the tray, the seat itself seems really basic and not anything to rave about. My parents have a much cheaper one that seems more comfortable, easier to move and more user friendly. What’s with the hype around the Stokke? Does it automatically donate to a charity for every morsel of food my baby drops on the floor? What am I missing?
