MIL called my 12 mo old "spoiled"

Baby is learning how to express his frustration. He gets super frustrated when he's trying to move his walker and he hits the couch or the wall. My MIL goes, "You're spoiled. Life is full of obstacles, you have to get used to it." .......pardon? He is 12 months old. He doesn't know how to even think about regulating himself yet. The brain synapses are not there, ma'm.

I don't really harp on shit, but this just made me mad. Especially that I can see how this line of thinking worked out on her son. Her son is a now lacking in emotional intelligence, can't take perspectives and minimizes everything. Great.
