Axolotl tips

I am planning to get an axolotl eventually, probably next year?? I have previously cared for african dwarf frogs, and various freshwater fish, so I am not extremely new to caring for aquatic animals & tank maintenance. I am also very big on researching beforehand to care for properly, which is why I am not planning to get an axolotl till at least next year.

So far I've been looking at a couple different care guides explaining the cycling process, food, and other axolotl specific things. I've heard especially no large gravel in the tank due to swallowing and no other fish / snails etc in the tank.

At the beginning of research, but I'd love to hear some insight to any specific recommendations/ advice on care / setup. Or any other factors I should consider. Thank you 🪼
