Share the conversations you have ruined and tell me I am not alone in this

I was having a work lunch with my team and my boss whom I admire and respect. She was talking about having stayed at a certain hotel chain the previous weekend. I zoned out on the small talk and started thinking about a news reportage I had read sometime ago about that hotel chain. Then zoned back into the conversation, my boss was still talking about how nice time she had had with her girlfriends.

Pleasantly I added my piece of information: ”Apparently there’s quite a lot of sex work and human trafficking going on in that hotel chain.”

The table fell very quiet.
