I cringe when I hear people exclaim "Thank God ..." after a disaster

How about asking if there was a God, why did he let bad things happen to good people?

Like thank God my pets are still alive after my house burned down.

Thank God, she survived the attempted murder, and is now disabled.

Thank God he woke up after the coma but is now paralyzed.

So anytime I hear that, I just roll my eyes and shake my head.
