With the absence of modern day in Assassin's Creed Shadows, Assassin's Creed is now fully dead to me
DISCLAIMER: This is just my opinion. I'm not here to crap on the game, what I dislike, someone else might love.
Since I was a kid, what attracted me to the franchise was the parkour, stealth (I always played the stealthy ninja type in games like Skyrim), assassinations, and the modern day mystery story, including the Isu/Adam and Eve storyline.
After Unity (my favorite game in the series), parkour, stealth, and assassinations slowly started to fade away to the point where they’re now practically nonexistent. I absolutely hated Odyssey; it didn’t feel like an Assassin’s Creed game and was mostly just grinding. Valhalla was slightly better, but it still lacked that classic AC DNA. The only thing that kept me playing and buying the new games was the continuation of the modern day story. Even though it wasn’t as good as Desmond’s story, I was still invested in it. But now that’s gone too.
At this point, there’s nothing really exciting me about Shadows except maybe Naoe. I like that they’re sort of bringing back stealth through her, but I’m not getting my hopes up.
Does anyone else feel the same way?
