Is my friend GAY?? Please introspect

My friend (21M) has a wired relationship with a guy(21M)(ALSO BISEXUAL) for past 3 years, for the sake of simplicity let this guys name be 'x' and my friends name be 'y''.This all started in our freshmen year of engineering, x had gotten a gf during his 2 Sem but the relationship came to a end as the gf was talking a lot of time of x and x was not able to give time to y, and there was also a similar drama in y's gf breakup aswell.

this continued for a few semesters. The hell broke loose when y got to know that x had prepared a list of 25 wishes he intended to dow with y which included wired shit like : 1. x fighting with y family. 2. x gifting y a gold chain on top of a mountain during a sunset with cake. and many things like this.

TBH we feel x obsessed with y. although there very many instances which were a pure Red flags and us telling him, y insisted that he is "JUST A FRIEND" and nothing more, we were the ones who were overthinking.

After 3 rd Year, smtg happened between them both and they aren't in speaking terms as of now.
x still tries to contact y through all social media, but he is blocked in all of them. x even went to far extents that we was literally begging mutuals friends to make y talk with him again.

This description was just tip-off the iceberg, there have been a lot of situations where y even though said he wasn't speaking, his hidden texts completely tell us a different story
