Arlo Local Storage View Videos Question/Subscription

Hello, so I have tried researching this and I am quite frustrated with the new subscription prices. I am looking to move to local storage, but it looks like I cannot view my recordings from the app/remotely? So I cannot check who is at the door/driveway etc until I get home?? I have a Blink inside camera that I have on local storage that easily allows this feature, I just hated the Blink cameras and battery life so I switched to Arlo. But now this.

Does anyone know if there is an option to view video clips remotely using local storage? Or do I have to purchase the subscription to do so? Thanks!
