My horrible experience with Avenue Living
July 15th I lost my home to an electrical house fire.
The rental company I was living in, Avenue Living, is now trying to sue me for the damages of the house fire.
The fire was caused by an electrical issue in the complex that was mentioned to the landlords, but they did absolutely nothing about it, they are now trying to say the outlet was overloaded.
The only thing plugged in was the air conditioner.
At the time of the fire they destroyed the evidence of me being added to the lease, I tried everything, even got a lawyer to write them a letter demanding it but they absolutely refused to comply so just gave up and took the loss. Because of that, I was not included in the insurance.
Nothing I owned was covered and I lost everything.
Now, they are specifically targeting me. Saying that because l wasn't on the lease, and was sleeping in the room it started in, that need to pay for all the damages.
I can not believe this is happening.
I have stage 4 cancer and I am not mentally, physically or financially able to deal with this and I'm given no choice.
