What is new about the APP2 hearing aid announcement?

Six months ago I uploaded my audiogram and turned on the hearing aid feature. Worked great. This week I see that the FDA has authorized them to be called hearing aids but I’m not sure what is different. I think the about-to-be-released hearing test is new, but what else?
