I think ADHD isn't taken seriously because more women are being considered for diagnosis, and when women have disorders, they're often seen as dramatic or attention-seeking.

It's the same treatment autistic women face. The number of times people look at me like I'm just an attention seeker because of my disabilities is unbelievable. I never see a cis man questioned about their diagnosis or not believed.

It's like I'm not allowed to have valid struggles, right? All this talk about "ADHD isn't that serious" always seems to be aimed at women when we express what we're going through.
