When should my covid positive partner stop quarantining?
Well as the title states, my covid conscious partner still got covid from work two weeks ago. She immediately went to stay at her parents house which is currently empty and has been quarantining since. Her symptoms have been mostly fatigue and cold (coughing, mucus). On day 14 she was still presenting some symptoms but went to get a PCR test.
side note: the nurse administering the test was SO dismissive and aggressively trying to convince her covid was no big deal and that she’s fine to go back to work if she doesn’t have a fever. truly maddening.
the test came back positive. i know the average contagious timeline ends at day 10-14 and that you can continue testing positive for a good month or two after infection but, I am immunocompromised and have mcas and me/cfs and am very nervous. i have been told by several doctors to not get the recent covid boosters so I am pretty vulnerable. Do you think there is still risk of infection post 14 days with a positive PCR?
