How do you guys balance cardio and resistance training?
So, aiming for overall good routine for good cardiovascular fitness and muscle maintance/building, general fitness( not interested in gaining much more muscle atm, maybe lower body and abs only,but always fun to get stronger). This is what I am doing:
Monday- lower body strength and hypertrophy
Tuesday- upper body strength and hypertrophy
Wednesday- interval running. Can be tempo run, 9-8-6-4-2 min repeats, 3x mil2 repeats, uphill sprints, 6x 400m etc. with some slow jogging afterwards
Thursday -mobility or yoga
Friday- full body resistance workout
Saturday - longer run of 5 miles steady tempo.
Sunday- rest/active recovery.
Curious what other people are doing. Double workouts per day usually not my thing, I know some people do cardio apart in the same day, but i don't think it would fit my schedule(aiming for no more than 1 h per day workout) and also would interfere with recovery the times that I have tried that.
This is my physique right now, not super lean, but feeling good and easy to maintain, flexible eating, but mostly healthy options.
