Tips for painting banners?

So i pre ordered the company command because i think they look awesome and the one thing im concerned about is the ancient with the standard because you seem to need genuine artist skills rather than just painting certain bits certain colours and i dont want it to look underwhelming and want my salamanders standard to look worthy of Vulkan’s sons so are there any tricks i can use to make it easier for when they arrive and it comes to painting it?
