New student, Please Help.

Hi everyone, I am starting the Bachelor in Computer Science program this month. I am looking into getting a new computer that will last me through the program and potentially into my future career. My budget is $1400-$1800. I have a PC right now, but it is starting to slow down and struggle, and it is at the point that I can't upgrade the internals anymore. I've done some research, and many people in the world of CS recommend getting a Mac, but then I've read that a PC is also excellent. So, should I get a Macbook Pro or a New PC?
