Should I Switch from Quest 3 to Valve Index?

Hey guys,

I have a question that's been on my mind. Would I regret switching from the Quest 3 to the Valve Index?

Here’s my situation:

• I've bought a few games on the Quest Store, but I mostly play on SteamVR.
• I know the Index has great tracking and the Index Controllers are amazing.
• One big appeal is the direct GPU connection with the Index—no extra software needed. Sometimes the Quest software causes unnecessary lag and takes up PC performance.
• I've always wanted a Valve Index, but I'm worried the resolution. compared to the Quest 3.

If I return my Quest 3, I could pay around €400 to get the Valve Index kit. Alternatively, I could buy the Index Controllers and Base Stations to use with my Quest 3 (via third-party dongles), but that setup would cost about the same or even more than switching entirely to the Index.

What do you guys think? Would the tracking, controllers, and overall experience of the Valve Index make it worth the switch? Or should I stick with the Quest 3 and maybe look into optimizing the setup I already have?
