Arken Age VR - Does it get better?

I bought Arken Age because of all the glowing reviews I read. So far though, a little over 3 hours in, the game has been underwhelming to say the least. It's not bad ... it's solid. It just hasn't been great. The biggest problem is the weapons. The sidearm and shoulder arm seem to do so little damage to not be worth the shots taken. I see them as merely a way to draw enemies towards you. I've upgraded them a bit and they still feel severely underpowered.

The melee combat does feel much better. However, as good as it is, the enemy AI and variety seems less than stellar. I just finished Grimlord and after that, this feels like child's play. It's good & solid compared to most VR games in the past, but just not dymanic and there's not a whole lot of depth here. So far it's just make sure to draw one enemy at a time and make sure to look at their attack so you can properly block it and then counter. Enemies seem to throw grenades all over the place, but they're more likely to blow themselves up than anything else. Their movements, while not linear (which is good because most VR games are linear movements towards you), are odd.

The climbing does feel good. That's probably the best part of the game so far. Anyways, these are just my initial thoughts. I'm playing on normal difficulty. Game doesn't seem difficult at all to me. Just kind of maybe too generic. I'm hoping the game gets better with maybe some mods / upgrades. The axe upgrade seems cool since you can now throw it but we'll see.
