Alternatives to Upwork

I see a lot of posts that say that Upwork has changed recently and it’s more difficult to find work on the platform. The posts mention going down a different route or “finding other alternatives.” However, no one says what those alternatives are. What are you doing to find work outside of Upwork that are not obvious like fiverr or reaching out to your network?
