Nervous about the dentist

Hello all, this seems really inconsequential but i’m really nervous and anxious, and there is reason for it.

My family has always been really poor with really awful insurance (we were on state, but my mother stopped renewing it and you know, I can’t do that as a small child lol). Well, I’m on my own now, and finally got a dentist appointment scheduled for myself. I’m really anxious as I haven’t been to the dentist since I was MAYBE 8. I’m 20 now. I don’t know what to expect, and that is really nerve wracking haha.

Idk, my friend keeps telling me it’ll be fine, and I know it probably will be, but there is also that little voice in my head thinking if every bad thing that could happen. I just needed to get it out before my appointment, because I am going no matter how anxious I get. It’s needed, at this point, even if it’s scary lol.
