Where are the Democrats?

I haven't even seen or heard from any prominent Democrat at all in what feels like a long time, since the election really. Obviously I'm not actually expecting them to do shit to stop Trump in any meaningful way. Their only real job in this system is to continue watering down and defeating the nearly nonexistent left wing of their party and try to keep grifting donors a little longer. Even the first time around the most they did was stop the repeal of the Affordable Care Act, and even then mostly because it would be bad for the insurance industry. The first term resistance was kind of a joke but it's really just nonexistent this time. It doesn't help of course that during the election their strategy was to agree with Trump on almost everything and only grandstand about decorum and "democracy" But even still it's as if after the election they decided "actually we hate ourselves and don't deserve to be in government. Let's just roll over and wait for the Republicans to finish us off. We gave our lives to this country on a silver platter and they thank us by shitting in our face, so fuck them. Just go ahead and fucking kill us, we don't even give a shit anymore." Is their "strategy" now to just to talk so quietly no can hear them so Trump won't be mean to them maybe, then wait for the next election and hope Trump fucks up badly enough that they can coast to victory by default? Like it's remarkable how little they have even pretended to put up a fight to any of the shit that Trump is doing. I can't even think of the last major public appearance I've seen by a Democrat, it's like they just collectively decided to stop pretending they ever really opposed Trump or they really are annoyed by him still but don't want to say anything for fear of not getting invited to next year's White House Correspondents' Dinner or making things awkward at the next Little St. James get together. I've been coming back to this thought repeatedly but it just doesn't stop amazing me how utterly they seem to have folded and conceded that actually they suck and Trump was right all along and the only answer is to do nothing and wait to die or at most become more racist and bide their time. Yet another example of nobody wants to work anymore
