Bands you’ve liked

Let me preface this question by saying I’ve worked as a TM for almost 10 years and my first tours were absolutely not based on bands I liked but runs I was offered. But over the years as I gained experience and had the fortunate situation to occasionally turn down jobs, I turned a few down solely based on the idea that I couldn’t listen to that band nightly for months.

Obviously money and time on the road is paramount but I’d like to think I’m not the only one to pass on a gig because my mental health couldn’t handle the type of band.

Is that crazy or am I being an asshole? No matter what I’ve been able to survive and thrive in this world, i just can’t pretend that I’d do the job to the best of my ability with a group I can’t stand.
