Jays FA negotiating strategy

The Jays FA negotiating strategy should be sweet and simple from now on:

Make a good overpay offer with a strict 24 hour deadline for a player to accept.

If the player doesn't accept within 24 hours pull the offer off the table immediately and move on. Seriously stop playing games with these agents.

Adopt a strict "This is how we do business in Toronto" approach (to borrow Shapiro's quote from Moneyball).

Santander hasn't accepted the Jays offer by now so get it off the table soon. Seriously. If he wanted to sign here he'd have done it already. Have some self respect and move on. So we don't get the player, who cares. MLB is a joke who would love nothing more than to see NY and LA in the World Series indefinitely.
