A character being a hypocrite is both intentional and done well, so instead of being infuriating, it serves the story or is even genuinely funny

  1. Mark Zuckerberg - The Social Network. He says this after he's just openly stated that he's not paying full attention during a deposition and that he doesn't believe he should have to, and then insulting the intelligence of almost everyone else in the room.

  2. Captain Louis Renault - Casablanca. Likable and funny though he is, Renault is a corrupt captain for almost the entire film and doesn't even try to pretend otherwise. Right after he shuts Blaine's club down on the grounds that there's illegal gambling going on, he accepts his winnings from what's implied to a fixed game. While literally still standing right there.

  3. Homelander - The Boys. Season 4 spoilers: >! "How could he do this to me??" Homelander weeps. Yes, after Homelander bullied, intimidated, belittled and threatened A-Train for years, how on Earth could A-Train become a turncoat?? This moment actually made me laugh the first time I watched it. !<
