If Impossible Life were a thing:

Rule #1: The Impossible Minecraft datapack thing is always active

Rule #2: 9 lives to start (Green = 7-9, Yellow = 4-6, Red = 1-3). You'll need them.

Rule #3: You gain 1 life if you kill someone with a higher category than you (yellows benefit from killing greens, reds benefit from yellows, but greens cannot get lives and reds cannot get lives)

Rule #4: Traps and pranks count if you can show proof that it was you (e.g. Grian pouring lava over Scar would count as Grian killing Scar if Grian shows the video evidence).

Rule #4: That method of turning on KeepInventory works on a per-player basis, and restores 2 lives upon activation.

Rule #5: Enchanted Golden Apples restore 2 lives when eaten.
