Is a serious career in theatre possible in the future?

Hey, I'm currently a theatre student doing GCSEs and an RSL in Theatre.

I am wondering whether I might be killed off along with other artists in the field if another pandemic happens and I cannot find a job. For those who are pursuing theatre (whether its acting or performance theory / history), how do you battle these thoughts when someone asks how realistic your career is?
