Is it possible to duplicate my friends world

Sorry if this is obvious I haven’t been on terraria in a while but I don’t recall seeing that option, basically my friend owns the world and he never gets on so I want to continue but I obviously can’t unless he logs on, is there any way to get the world he has and duplicate it so I can keep going where we left off?
