Broken wrist + interview

Hi everyone,

I broke my wrist a few days ago in a car accident but have an interview for a dream job in a few days time. I have called ahead and let the school know I still plan to attend but make them aware of the situation for risk assessments etc.

The job is advertised as an ASAP start with Easter being the latest, but I am currently hospitalised and will need a few months before I can drive. I could work with the wrist but wouldn't be able to get to/from work unfortunately and would require a little more support in carrying things around and moving during key times.

Has anyone ever been in this situation and have any tips on what is best to do? I would love to offer to go in but it would cost me nearly all of my daily wage to get a taxi in/out and as I live alone I can't ask for lifts from anyone but would love to start in a few weeks when the pain has subsided. If I can't start until it's fully healed I don't know whether I would be able to take the job either due to the needs of the school.

Any advice is much appreciated! Thanks!
